COmmunity Closet

What is it?

And can you do it at your school?

P.S. the answer is yes!

The main aspects:

Gathering Clothing:

Giving clothing within:

  • Project textile gathers clothing in its community closet program by leveraging elementary, middle, and feeder schools.

  • donation bins are set up at these schools and monthly themes are communicated to students and families.

  • clothes are then gathered and donated.

  • One main way project textile donates these clothing articles is by means of making “care packages.”

  • clothing from the elementary schools is taken and sorted based on need (which can be ascertained from clothing request surveys).

  • These boxes are then given to families in the respective chapter’s district.
